Google is now taking further steps on data collection with Youtube for ads targeting. Advertisers and agencies can better measure and target their audiences by this new collaboration. This new collaboration is definitely a win-win business.
As a user, the ads which match my interests on Youtube never bothered me. Most of the time I get to know a new brand through Facebook or Youtube ads popping up. As Youtube creators could analyzing demographic and searching behaviors information from users, audience can get connected to more ads match their interests. I can't say "no" to beautiful clothing or bags with a cheap price or with a "on sale" tag online since they all fit my expectations. Also, with the enhanced measurement tools, users can even control ads on Youtube. For example, if you mute a type of ads on Google, then ads from that adviser will also be muted. It absolutely upgraded users searching experience. As advertisers, this measurement helps them target the right audience and allows them to verify their campaigns. "For instance, a car manufacturer could get a rich understanding of how YouTube ads across devices influenced a specific audience (like previous SUV buyers)," wrote Jolly. I look forward to seeing how audiences will react on targeted ads and how data will change the sales of products, how measurement-driven campaign will effect customer behavior.
